Since the purpose of the trailer is to attract an audience to the film, these excerpts are usually drawn from the most exciting, funny, or otherwise noteworthy parts of the film but in abbreviated form and usually without producing spoilers. For this purpose the scenes are not necessarily in the order in which they appear in the film.
Film trailers are a form of advertising that is structured to encourage as many people as possible to see the film at the cinema.
Distribution companies often cut more than one trailer for a film. A teaser trailer is the shortest at around 10 seconds, while a trailer for a TV spot will be 30 seconds and a full cinema trailer a whole two minutes.
The examiner will be reading your essay with a view of learning from your how your chosen film trailer works to encourage people to see a film. The expectation is that , you will have ‘read’ your trailer very closely, more than once and whilst looking and listening to as many details as possible.
